Multipoint locks are locks that are locked in multiple places rather than in one place. This can be done through various pairs of cylinders located at different heights in the door, or through multiple lockable points on the door handle or lever. Multipoint locks are often more secure than single point locks because they are harder to force open. They are often used on doors that open outward, such as the front door of a house or apartment, as these doors are often exposed to more risk of break-in.
